Anti-Albumin Antibody (AAA)
Antialbumin; Anti-HSA; Anti-BSA; Anti-OA
The two categories of
anti-albumin antibodies (AAA), namely precipitins (AA-P) and agglutinins (AA-Aggl),human serum albumin (HSA), bovine serum albumin (BSA) and ovalbumin (OA). The antibody titre to BSA was higher than that to OA or HSA. Of the examined diseases, in chronic active hepatitis and liver cirrhosis, the titre and incidence of anti-BSA antibody were highest.
Naturally occurring anti-albumin antibodies are responsible for false positivity in diagnosis of autoimmune premature ovarian failureAutoimmunity is a well-established causative factor of premature ovarian failure (POF), and evidence for the same has been well reported in the literature. Having shown the presence of anti-albumin antibody in normal women as well as in the sera of POF patients. A high titer polyclonal antibody against human serum albumin was generated. This antibody showed immunoreactivity to albumin obtained from various sources.
